As of November 2003, Licensing Authorities in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts using the Massachusetts Instant Precord Check System (MIRCS) have issued firearms licenses that resemble the license mockup listed below. The actual size of the card is 3.25 L x 2.1 W.

Any individual seeking a firearms license who is a resident of the City of Fitchburg or owns a business situated in the City of Fitchburg, must contact the Fitchburg Police Department's Firearms Licensing Unit at 978-345-1435 to schedule an appointment to process their application.
